Thank you for coming on this journey with me! My name is Nilu Afshar. I have lived in California for the last 30 years and prior to that I lived and grew up in England.
It has been over 4 years since I started “California Tastings”. Working in the Wine Industry for the last 10 years and after becoming a Certified Sommelier I decided to let my creative side come out. The idea to have fun but not take oneself too seriously is who I am. However I don't mind getting a little nerdy too! My passion is helping guide the guest and elevating their Experience.

The main focus of “California Tastings” is to be the creator of “Experiences!” Having lived in Wine Country for the last 30 plus years, and finding new and cool places every day, we want to be your local guides. Today, lives are way too busy to spend time researching wineries, restaurants, hotels, spas and hidden away jewels for your weekend getaway. Undoubtedly even more so if you are living in another state or country.
If you have ever gone to an “All Inclusive” vacation you know how relaxing that is. For me, traveling with my family, that was maybe one of the best vacations I have gone on. No need to think about pulling the purse out every few minutes. It’s just so nice when everything is paid for and you don't even have to think about it while you are focused on having fun.
I believe building a Business requires hard work, stepping outside your comfort zone and constantly educating yourself. Therefore my goal is to learn as much as I can so that I can offer more to you, our dear guests.
